My MPR Interview on Introversion in the Workplace

I was recently a guest on MPR’s Angela Davis show discussing introversion in the workplace.

Behaviors that are highly regarded in professional settings are often challenging for introverts, such as speaking up in meetings, being outgoing, and socializing at happy hours. Another guest, Sequoia Holmes, elaborated on an article she wrote, Black Women Aren’t Allowed To Be Introverts, in which she discusses the particular challenges she’s faced as an introverted Black woman.

Additional topics that were discussed:

  • How do I find a way to speak up in meetings and share the important ideas I have?
  • What if I prefer to just get my work done rather than engage in small talk?
  • And importantly: how do I step into my full power as an introvert – with its strengths as well as challenges – and use this to be successful in my work?
