True Confession
I had yet another tech issue, was making no progress, knew I needed help, and melted into a puddle.
I took a step back and asked myself: Why do computer problems make me want to weep? Why do I feel so helpless? Why is it so hard to ask for help?
I realized: Because I have no idea how to solve these problems; once I try a few YouTube videos, I usually have to ask someone; and I hate looking stupid.
Breakthrough!
There’s a big difference between not knowing how to do something and being stupid!
I assured myself: it might take time but the problem would get fixed. (Or else I’d learn how to work around it and just let it go – a learning in and of itself.)
Be gentle: ALL of us are doing things we’ve never done before, and it takes time. We are all learning. Yay, us!
